If your community has reached a population of 5,000, state statutes require your village administration to appoint a three member Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. We would like to encourage your commission to join the Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners Association.
The Association has members in every corner of the State of Illinois and you should be part of the Association that has offered essential information to commissioners for over 50 years.
The education value of your membership is virtually incalculable. Your Board members will be given the latest updates in practices and procedures presented in five or six structured modules. These classes will make your Board more effective in their administrative efforts and protect your village in the long run. Included in the annual dues is free access to John Broihier, the legal counsel for the IFPCA for any legal questions your commission may have.
